Digital Media
Digital Media evolves at a quick rate: video, social networking, user-generated content, maps and mashups are only a few of the developments that have emerged over the past few years. In editorial terms, digital media differ much from the more classical media. Each new minute brings a new deadline. This is why Concentra has brought the newspaper websites (hbvl.be en gva.be) and the “hasseltlokaal.be” site with public journalism into its own business unit.
Within Digital Media, the newspaper websites are further developed and content is provided in close collaboration with the editorial staff of the newspapers. Topical news, modern visualisation (video, cards, etc) and the ambition to provide the most detailed information per municipality and community have all played their part in the fast growth of our newspaper websites.
The marketing and advertising of the newspaper websites are also managed within Digital Media. Digital Media also builds new community sites and new business models in order to exploit them. Digital Media also has a research mandate to help develop the media (mobile, e-reader etc) of the future.
The Digital Media business unit has around forty employees who are led by Frank Dejaegere.
